How the spaced repetition works

Each card lives in one of five boxes. Answer Good and it moves up a box and is reviewed less often (1, 2, 4, 8, then 16 days). Answer Again and it drops back to box 1. Cards in box 4 or higher count as mastered.

New cards are dripped in slowly so you are not overwhelmed: the free plan introduces up to 5 new cards a day; members have no cap. Your streak counts consecutive days you practice. Members keep their streak through a single missed day.

Everything is stored only in this browser. The cards cover tile names, generic hand-family shapes, and strategy terms — none of it is the official NMJL card, which stays the authority on exact lines and values.

About the Flashcard Trainer

The Flashcard Trainer uses spaced repetition across tile names, hand families, and strategy terms.

Free decks review the basics; member decks add the deeper sets. Progress, a streak, and a daily new-card drip keep the vocabulary of American mahjong in your head.
