Status: This policy is a working draft prepared for internal review. It is published here so the wording can be checked before the paid plan goes live. The final version is subject to review by qualified counsel in the jurisdictions we serve. Where this draft and a binding agreement differ, the binding agreement and applicable law control.
1. Who handles the payment
Payments for the paid plan are processed by a third-party Merchant of Record (such as Paddle or Lemon Squeezy). That partner is the seller of record for the transaction, handles card data, sales tax and VAT where required, and issues refunds through the same system. Tileborne provides the learning content; we never see or store your card number.
2. Try it free first
Before any purchase, the member lessons include a free preview of three practice questions — one from each lesson — plus a free tier of the site's training tools. You can explore real material without entering payment details. A refund only ever applies to a charge you actually made.
3. First-purchase refund: 14 days, full amount
If you paid for a new subscription (monthly or annual) and decide it is not for you, request a full refund of that first charge within 14 days of the purchase date. No reason is required.
- How to request: cancel from your membership page (which opens the payments partner's customer portal) and use the refund request there, or email [email protected] with your account email. We act on requests within two business days.
- Where the money goes: back to the original payment method, through the Merchant of Record. Depending on your bank, this can take 5–10 business days to appear.
- After the 14-day window: the first charge is no longer refundable, but you can still cancel to stop any future charges (see Section 4).
This 14-day window is offered as a goodwill standard that matches common industry and platform practice. It does not replace any right you have under the law (see Section 7).
4. Renewals and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. We follow the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Click-to-Cancel rule: cancelling is as easy as signing up.
- Self-service, no obstacles. You cancel from your membership page, which opens the payments partner's customer portal. You do not need to call, email, or chat with a person to cancel.
- Timing. Cancellation takes effect immediately for future billing. Your paid access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, then stops. We do not refund a renewal charge that has already been processed.
- Annual plans. We send a renewal reminder before an annual renewal posts, as required by several U.S. state auto-renewal laws.
5. Founder (locked-price) seats
The Founder plan is a limited, locked-price seat. If you claimed a Founder seat and receive a refund on your first charge under Section 3, that seat is released back into the available Founder pool for the next eligible member. Refunds on later renewal charges are not issued (Section 4), so a retained Founder seat stays with you.
6. What is not refundable
- Renewal charges already processed (Section 4).
- Requests made after the 14-day first-purchase window for that first charge (Section 3).
- Charges connected with fraud, abuse, or a material breach of the Terms, or where refund is prohibited by applicable law.
7. Your statutory rights are not waived
This policy does not take away any right you have under the law of your country or state. In particular:
- European Union and United Kingdom consumers generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content, that right is lost once performance has begun if you expressly consented to immediate performance and acknowledged that you would lose the withdrawal right. Where that exception does not apply, the statutory withdrawal right stands. We will honour it.
- Other jurisdictions may give you longer or different protections. Those always apply over anything here that conflicts with them.
8. Currency, tax, and processing
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars. Sales tax, VAT, or GST where applicable is calculated and remitted by the Merchant of Record at checkout, based on your location. Refunds return the amount actually paid for the covered charge, including any tax collected on it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes are announced on this page and, where practical, by email before they take effect. Continued use of the paid plan after a change means you accept the updated policy.
10. Contact
The fastest way to ask about a refund or cancellation is your membership page (self-service) or email: [email protected]. We answer every note and act on valid refund requests within two business days.
This is an independent learning resource. Core lessons are free; an optional paid plan adds advanced practice tools when active. It is not an accredited school, charges no tuition for the free tier, and grants no diplomas. It is not affiliated with the National Mah Jongg League; the official NMJL card is always the final authority.
