Terms of Service

The simple terms for browsing and learning on American Mahjong School. Last updated: September 2026.

1

Acceptance

By accessing or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. This is a free, independent learning resource; there is no purchase, tuition or membership fee.

2

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. You may delete your account at any time from the My messages page; doing so permanently removes your account and your messages. Accounts exist only so you can save and review the questions you send us.

3

Content & accuracy

All guides are written for recreational reference and are kept current with the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) standard. Rule interpretations follow widely used player guides and the AMJA Rules Companion. Where your table, club or tournament differs, its house rules and the current official NMJL card always win. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee every line fits every local variation.

4

Intellectual property

All site content, designs and marks are the property of American Mahjong School or its licensors. You may not reuse them without written permission. The National Mah Jongg League name and card are the property of the NMJL; we are not affiliated with them.

5

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, American Mahjong School is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the site. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us — which, for a free learning site, is zero.

6

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts located in California. If you are accessing from the European Union, nothing here reduces the consumer protections you have under EU law.

7

International & EU visitors

If you are in the European Economic Area, your personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, consistent with the GDPR. You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your data at any time via the Contact page.
