By accessing or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. This is an independent learning resource. The core lessons are free to read; an optional paid membership adds advanced practice tools. There is no tuition, and no purchase is required to use the free content.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. You may delete your account at any time from the My messages page; doing so permanently removes your account and your messages. Accounts exist only so you can save and review the questions you send us.

All guides are written for recreational reference and are kept current with the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) standard. Rule interpretations follow widely used player guides and the AMJA Rules Companion. Where your table, club or tournament differs, its house rules and the current official NMJL card always win. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee every line fits every local variation.

All written guides, artwork, code, designs and marks on this site are the original work of Tileborne or its licensors, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, republish, resell or reuse them without our written permission.

Any physical products we may offer in the future are our own original designs. The tile-face symbols (dots, bamboos, characters, winds, dragons, flowers and the joker) are traditional public-domain motifs; they are not copied from, and are not affiliated with, the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) or any other league’s copyrighted card. The NMJL name, annual card and logo are trademarks and/or copyrighted works of the NMJL. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NMJL.

Copyright concerns & content removal

We write our own text, draw our own artwork, and build our own code and designs; we do not set out to use anyone else’s protected work. If you believe something on this site infringes a copyright or other right you hold, write to us at [email protected]. Tell us what the material is and where you found it, and we will review the claim and remove or disable the disputed material promptly. Honest mistakes happen; we would rather put them right quickly than litigate.

How this site is made

The tile art, game graphics and page layouts are ours, drawn for this site rather than traced from someone else’s work. Rules and card facts are checked against the current official National Mah Jongg League card, and the sources we lean on are listed on our Sources page.

The site and its content are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tileborne is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the site. Where you have paid for a membership or product, our total liability for that item is limited to the amount you paid for it; for the free content, that amount is zero.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts located in California. This choice of law does not remove any consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your own state: if you live in another U.S. state, its mandatory consumer protections still apply to you.

An optional paid membership is available alongside the free content. Where you buy it:

• Auto-renewal: both membership plans renew automatically until you cancel. The monthly plan renews every month and the annual plan every twelve months, at the price shown to you at checkout. Cancel anytime from your account or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep access until the current period ends. It does not refund the current period except where required by law or under our refund policy.
• Who charges you: payment is processed by our third-party payment provider — the merchant of record named on the checkout page — not by us. We never see or store your full card number.
• Sales tax: we collect sales tax only where we have a legal obligation to do so; any amount is shown at checkout.
• State auto-renewal laws: we comply with applicable state auto-renewal disclosure laws (including those in California, Vermont, North Carolina and Illinois) by stating the renewal terms clearly before you pay and giving you a simple way to cancel.
